Backwater Bay Rentals

In our backwater bay, you will discover the Barefoot Beach Preserve Canoe & Kayak Trail. The Canoe & Kayak Trail is a properly marked nature trail that circles approximately 1.5 miles through an estuarine mangrove forest. The trail waters are classified as "Outstanding Florida Waters". Fish, mollusks, crustaceans, dolphins, and manatees all spend a part of their lives in this estuary. The salt tolerant mangrove trees form impassable forests that are home to many species of wildlife. Marine creatures find food and safety among the tangles root system of the red mangrove. Ideal bird nesting sites can be found in the canopy of these mangrove trees. You might see yellow crowned night herons, roseate spoonbills, white ibis, brown pelicans, and many other species of wading birds. Do not forget to look overhead for the ospreys & southern bald eagles that feed here daily & call the preserve home.

2 PERSON KAYAKS

2 person kayaks are available for rental. Our kayak fleet is designed to give you the fastest & most comfortable tour of the backwater nature trail. There is room to bring along small items such as bottle water, snacks, & a small personal bag.

1 HOUR RENTAL= $30.00

3 HOUR RENTAL= $50.00

*1 person kayaks are available upon request ($20.00 per hour/30.00 per 3 hour)

*Experienced kayakers please ask about our "From the Backwater to Beach" kayak adventure!!!!

 

CANOES

Our canoe fleet can accomadate up to 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 children. Our canoe fleet is designed to give you the most peaceful & relaxing tour of the backwater nature trail. There is room to bring along a cooler with drinks & snacks, & a medium sized personal bag Also, feel free to bring along your fishing pole for some world class fishing.
